View Full Version : Can someone set up a "Dent Day" somewhere in the Bay Area?

I can't recall, but didn't some shop host a Dent day for a really good price? Was it Dynospot? Anybody else need/want this? Also be a good chance to meet up.

Only if you would have posted this 2 weeks ago, right before I got my paint job. I'm sure if you get enough people, you can get one of the guys from dent pros to come out and if there is enough work for him to do then he will make some very acceptable prices. Good luck!

bay bimmerz did one last year at dyno spot racing.

Well, right now I'm looking into Dent Wizard because someone requested them in particular. So, if I go with Dent Wizard, I may have 2 people so far.

Hey Shragon (Robert, right?), do you know how much the deal was at DSR last year?

shragon
05-28-2003, 01:19 AM
hey wassup darren. yea, rob here.

i don't think they really had a set price last year. they just discounted it how they saw fit. so they would look at your car, and just give you a price. i think i paid around $125, and got quite a few dents taken out including two big ones on the hood. i don't remember which company they had come out.

Jim O.
05-28-2003, 01:36 AM
I think they used this guy:

Brad Treece
Dent Performance
(408) 227-8031 - work
(408) 210-6922 - Cell

He's worked on a number of my friend's cars, and does really good work...

Jim is correct, Brad Treece is who did it last year at DSR. It was somewhere between $50-$75 for the first dent and then $10 for each additional dent. Great work, especially for the price.

What do you guys think? Another BayBimmerz Dyno & Dent Day?

Dynospot is not far from my house, and while I don't need any dents pulled I'd be happy to get a dyno baseline done before I contemplate any additional mods. Always good to chat with folks as well. So far, those dates all look free for me as well.

What's the rate for dynospot? I have no mods, is it worth doing a dyno? Or should I do a dyno when I start modding.

Thanks.

I think DSR charges $85 per hour for any particular install, which is pretty good considering the dealer charges about $135 I think. As for a dyno run, I think it's $85. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Erik@EDGE
05-29-2003, 12:01 PM
Never a bad plan to do a dyno when you are stock and then periodically dyno after mods. That way you know what you are doing.

FYI, We at MPACT only charge about $45/hr for mod installs and we can do it at night and on the weekends unlike a lot of shops.

Are we gonna do the dent thing too? My car has a like 100 dents, but it looks dilebrate, so I may leave it.

Hey Erik, Joe here!
I want to set something up for suspension. Say within the next month or two. My front shocks are SHOT! I have Bilsteins in the rear with E46 RS. What springs and front shocks should I do? I drive it daily and want it to be somewhat comfortable. I was thinking Bilstein or Koni's up front with H&R OE or Sports.

BMWCCA has organized one on June 15th @ the Marina airport.

Pls show me this gas station and how or where it is close to DynoSpot. The last time we were at DynoSpot, I drove around for thirty nimutes just trying to find ANY gas.

Erik@EDGE

Just FYI, Race Gas is a waste of money unless your car is programmed for it. Our DMEs can only handle up to 94 Octane. If you want to do anything, you could add like 3 gallons to your tank to increase the octane from 91 to whatever it gets you.

Erik@EDGE

OK, I talked to Brad.. Unfortunately the date we picked does not work for him. June 21st is the better date for him.

His pricing is as follows:
1st Ding is $50
Each additional is $10 and up

The "and up" part is based on whether or not he has easy access to the ding. Last year he had to take apart a lot of interior panels to get to some dings and that made it cost-ineffective for him.
To be fair, he will go around the car and give you a total prior to starting the work. You can then decide which dings you want him to tackle. He does GREAT work and is a cool guy also. I think he used to build NASCAR motors or something....

Very good rates. I had a Dent-Pro guy do a car for me couple years ago. It was about $75 first and $20 each additional, roughly. Count me in for June 21.
