Guys, just picked up an E36 M3, my first bmw - which leads me to my question. The steering feels a little heavier than it should. I can't be for certain since I have not driven another M or E36 to compare it to.

There are no vibrations or sounds when I turn the wheel or anything like that - however I haven't checked the power steering fluid yet.


Any ideas other than the fluid that I could check?

is it the first non american or japanese car you've driven? steering on german makes assists less than other cars.

Yes this is..I've driven japanese all my life - i'm probably just used to it.

your dead on... also if you have a staggered set up you will feel understeer which will feel "heavy"
