just returned from my first Road Trip ,put on over 1100km and had a great ride. 850 ran and handled well averaging 22 miles / Imp Gallon. Only one issue of concern which has occurred on , SOME, shorter highway trips. While cruisin the car would on occassionly seem to miss a heart beat and continue on until the next episode. Occrred about 10 - 15 times inthe 1100km. Felt like a subtle lag for a fraction of a second.
Any Ideas???:help

Congrats on the journey, would love to take a trip like that. I have felt that lag also, sometimes, and asked the BMW mech about it. He said it may be a leak in the exhaust system somewhere? Does it happen when you slow down? I'm only investigating this part time, got way more major stuff on my hood than this one right now. Hope that helps a little...

No, it occurs at highway cruisin speed.
What issues r u dealing with....I will check the forum for your postings and see what info, if any I can contribute.....good luck

I have a laundry list of things. Putting in some major hours this weekend on the lift to knock some of 'em out. Next time I'm at the Dealer, I'll ask about your issue, see if anything comes out.

What type of spark plugs are you using? One of the Canadian owners on RF was experiencing something like that with Bosch Platinum plus plugs. Changed to conventional plugs and it went away.
