I installed my HIR in the low beam, high beam and fog bulbs, they look great!

What I'd like to do now is install front signal and front ftp fog lights that are the same color temp as my HIR's.

Does anybody know of white bulbs that fit? I'm a bulb idiot!

Cheers

hey bro :). I'm going the same way you are but I'm doing super white LEDs and I've already ordered them. The square ones you've outlined are the parking lights and are 7528 and the FTPs are 7506. There's all kinds of bulbs out there, you shouldn't have a problem finding what you want :).

there is no fog light in your FTP.

Hey Tx, what is the light called then that turns on in the FTP strip when you flip the switch into the first detente? The one next to the turn indicator?

I'm weary of non-oem bulbs 'cause every bimmer I've owned hates aftermarket bulbs. The obc doesn't like 'em!

Koizumi, Give Ahmed 303 (Faisal) a shout. He has upgraded the lighting in his FTP's. Done this to both his cars (I believe) and as far as I've seen knows what to use. Cheers. Carter

that would be known as a marker light. I have LED's in those so that they match my 4300K HID's - l;ooks real nice and gives the car a more "modern" look.

I like the idea of LED markers and turn signals. I wonder about how LEDs get along with the OBC. Any false triggering will make me go crazy. Like I said earlier, every BMW I've owned despised aftermarket bulbs. In the end, I always replaced lights with OEM ones from the stealer :(

Koizumi,
I had to install a resistor to make the MID disregard the LED bulb - works fine. I will have to check when I get home as to the specifics.

I like the idea of LED markers and turn signals. I wonder about how LEDs get along with the OBC.

I tried the LED bulbs for the markers (corner, indicator, backup, etc). The 3 issues I was faced with:

* Occational OBC error message
* Blinkers too fast (2+ blinks / second)
* Less than acceptable amount of light (Yes less light than Halogen)

What I ended up using:

* Piaa XtremeWhite 1157 for the front markers and turn (27W/8W) which are the dual filament
* Piaa XtremeWhite 1156 for the rest single filament
* PIAA Super Plasma GT-X H3 for the Flash To Pass (FTP)

Works nicely for me. YMMV.

However, There is a new product a friend of mine tried that I was impressed with that had a closer 4300K match. That is Solaris 1157 Super White Xenon. But the light output is slightly less. But it does not matter as that will only show it's colors for the front markers. For all the yellow markers I went with the brightest light output bulbs available at the time.
