I'm coming home from my parents in my 95 M3 the other day. I get stuck in a one lane behind this Mustang GT, who in turn is stuck behind a van. There we are driving 35mph behind this van, all bumper to bumper. I know that I have 1 mile before the single lane opens to a double 45mph.

So the road splits and I shoot the right lane. My windows were down and I can hear that the Mustang is RIGHT behind me. We are both going about 55mph at this point and he pulls to my left and matches my speed. Not in the mood to race, considering I have about three miles to my turn, I glance over and the driver is just pacing me, looking straight. I think to myself, "These cars are fast, but aren't they just good for the 'Hole Shot'?" I am in 4th and decide to pick up a little speed, he matches and seems ready to race. So as soon as he hits my bumper, I drop the hammer and slam into third at 60mph. My M3 lounges forward and so does the Stang. But my car pulls a car length and then two, I slam 4th at 6500rpm. Now we're approaching 90mph in a 45mph.:nono

After I can clearly see him in my drivers side mirror, I shut down. My turn is up and I give a "peace" sign. The driver just mashes by all pissy-like.

Whatever...I won't hesitate to race a Stang now. Maybe not those Saleens though.

96 GT Mustang = :bawl
95 E36 M3 = :stickoutt

Cheers!

Nice kill and good story. :buttrock

But keep something in mind for the future, the very first 4.6 Stangs (95 or 96?) were the slowest ones since like 1984... I think they were rated at 205 bhp.

Sounds like you raced an auto, and from a roll, at that, just words to the wise, not all Mustangs will go down so easily...

Dont Be Hattin!! :D I love my mustang... Though a 97 M3 would be ohh so perfect :buttrock

- I could totally beat the stuffin out of a stock 96 GT and IM only a v6 ... :biglaughb it seems as though all the mustang GT owners think they drive the fastest car on the road... dummies!

I'm guessing the GT might have been modded, if you only managed to put a car length on him. Your car should pull more than that on a stocker '96. They only came with 2:73 gears and 215 @ fwhp.

Thank you AngelGT for the correct information. I was just about to put it. Ya dude, if you had have kept going... you'd have put numerous cars on him. Those 94- 98 GT's are so weak.

Absolutely, raced a 4.6 GT a few months ago from 80 mph (I never even shifted to 3rd, just used 4th) to 130. Well actually I raced to 130 he was at least 2-3 cars back by 110 and falling back more and more.

Stock one, perhaps, they are still very receptive and rather inexpensive to modify...

I know guys with 98 GT's with nothing but gears, 99 heads, and drag radials running mid 13's...

Beeze: Please, the only posts you have are on hating other cars. Dont just post to say, "I hate stangs." You make yourself look stupid and childish. So please dont post anymore just to hate on other cars.
