is it possible to buy the exhaust tips used on the 850csi and have them fitted onto the 840 mufflers?

In theory, yes.

But why not just go aftermarket with your mufflers? Magnaflows are rather inexpensive relative to many other options.

Yup, and Magnaflow has endless tip selections to choose from.

Who told you that? Magnaflows are excellent, esp. with E31. They're def. one of the best for the 8. You will slap yourself & your momma once u hear what your M60 sounds like with Magnaflows & center resonator delete. With normal driving, she'll sound like a sultry purring kitten. But then a true angry beast when u stomp on the gas! This is one of the very best mods u can do for your ride.

have u heard them on a 840 before? If so, does it sound nice?

Koizumi

Hell yeah it sounds nice! I roll with this setup on my 840 :D I also had the pleasure of cruising up Washington Blvd with a boardmember from RF with his '95 840 with the same exhaust setup as mine. It was insane to hear our cars together at 45mph, side by side!

If you keep the center resonator, your car will drone at 1900 rpm. Cut it out.

Any shop can weld any ol' tip you choose. I suggest you stagger them.

Not the same engine/car at all, but I was stoked with the Magnaflows I got for my Corvette, and would definitely consider them for the 8.

I am using them as hold me overs until I can get an Eisenmann. I too recommend them.

I don't have a video, but you know what? I think I will make one today now that the damn rain has stopped (washed+detailed my car really nicely on Wed, I'm pissed off).

I did post a sound clip before I cut out the center resonator, but the sample is useless since with the resonator delete, the car sounds totally different.

Stay tuned...

Tx will chime in here undoubtedly with the 850 tip mod he did on his muffs...it looks great and sounds like just what you want to accomplish.

Just an FYI, I have a set of used 14833 which I was going to adapt/mount to my 8, but decided on forgoing it for now. Asking $150 for the pair. I'll get pictures later if there is any interest.

That's darn close to, if not, a half price sale as I recall...
Standing by for a possible, if not probable correction...

Yo,
Rod

It is a used set that still needs to be adapted/fitted. I felt that is a fair price? :confused They indeed retail for around 160-170 each. Do you think I should ask 200? I honestly don't want to rip off an E31er. We get it enough the way it is.

Ok, quick question. If I have already taken out my cats, and if I swap out my mufflers with the magnaflows and took out the resonators... how much different would it should than Kozumi's 8? Also I have a 850Ci not a 840Ci so what should I expect?

I would imagine it would be more quiet and more "throaty." I doubt you will be disappointed.

No, Magnaflows are all universal fit; hence the low price relative to model specific exhausts. As such, you need a competent exhaust/muffler shop to make adapters to properly mount, as well as properly cut and weld.

See my Sig~

I have Magnaflows on my E31, on my Escalade_EXT and on my CLK430.

Buy a pair and have an exhaust shop weld them on!

Side Note: I kept my stock resonators produces a Mild Roar, slightly louder than stock (but is nowhere as loud as Koizumi's 840....)
