RokstaNorth 05-23-2008, 06:10 PM I was thinking about swapping the wheels from my e39 to my e31, and vice versa, the ones on my e39 are 20's.....

Any suspension changes should i do to the e31?
On the e39 I had to lift the rear about 3/4 in.
Thanks!
OUTLAW840ci 05-23-2008, 06:15 PM no...just buy another set of m parallels for your e39....$630 shipped
Auraraptor 05-23-2008, 06:56 PM Your tire sizes presently on the E39 are a bit...interesting.
Koizumi 05-23-2008, 07:01 PM I wouldn't. M-Parallel is classic!
Suspension upgrades? Drop it! I'm so glad I dropped my ride.
cel0202 05-23-2008, 08:39 PM I'm not a fan of black rims, plus I really love the M Pars. I say keep the M-Pars on the 8 and buy a set of M-Pars for the e39 :). Just my opinion.
RokstaNorth 05-23-2008, 08:59 PM as much as I would want another set of M-Pars.... i really dont want 2 cars with the smae wheels..lol...
I had OEM M5 wheels from the previous owner but i traded them for the 20's after i saw repair weld spots on the inside of 2 wheels, plus they were bent to hell
TxGR8White 05-23-2008, 11:44 PM 20 is too much for an 8

The nice thing about black wheels is that they don't look bad with brake dust so black rims = lazy owner. So where can I get my rims painted/powder coated?:rolleyes
840rod 05-24-2008, 01:22 AM Depends where you live bro ... but check em out cause there are differences... ask around.
Yo,

8eights 05-24-2008, 02:50 AM Don't do it, 20's are to much for the 8-) The car will handle far better than 17's or 18's...

+1
As some have said, 20s might be too much for the 8.
They might look good, but they will probably detract from the driving experience.
prit singh 05-24-2008, 09:23 PM 17 or 18 are best bet, however 19 do look good especailly with a huge lip

Not my experience extensively driving my bro's 850 with 20s from BC to CA. Loved the ride and handling. That isn't to say that there aren't some serious considerations when you go that large...but if you like a stiff ride you will probably like them.
I'm going to summer 19s from 17 all seasons but... I am retiring my car from dd status the moment she gets back from paint. :redspot
...and swap 'em. The black'll go better on the 8. (:
Thanks for the input Fitchik :)
Please, post some pics of your car when it's done.
