View Full Version : Should I put an ///M Badge on the front grill?
Hello,
As some of you might know, I like to keep my cars mostly stock.
When I bought my CSi, it had some fake ///M badges instead of the BMW emblem and lacked the "850 CSi" designation at the rear, so I put all the original logos back.

The only mod I have made to my car was to remove the huge front plate support as the Swiss front plates are smaller:

I am however considering to put an ///M badge on the front grill. The ///M8 prototype had it after all!

Thank you for your opinion :)
1chiban 05-23-2008, 09:47 AM hey bro, Koizumi has done the exact thing you're asking about and in my personal opinion it looks awesome! You have a CSi, the closest thing to an ///M8 possible! I'd say that if you have it flaunt it. You have all the justification in the world to add one, or do anything for that matter :).
Ahmed303 05-23-2008, 11:01 AM I say do it if you have a CSi or a CSi Body Kit. Put an ///M but don't put a ///M8 as the car is not an ///M8, but it certainly has a lot of ///Motorsport elements.
TxGR8White 05-23-2008, 11:25 AM it's your car. I wasn't looking for group-approval when I put my "HYBRID" emblem on, just do it if that is what makes you happy. I think the //M is appropriate since you have ALL of the Motorsport elements on the car. Ironically, in Germany the CSi is listed as an M8 in the Vehicle papers (pic is on www.e31.de (http://www.e31.de)).
Koizumi 05-23-2008, 03:25 PM Your gorgeous car is a Motorsport dream... Go for it.
The best part is that if you don't like it after a while, you can take it off.
Wuffer 05-23-2008, 03:50 PM My opinion on this is like Steffens - its your car - do whatever you want. What we or anyone else thinks is irrelevant. Purists may not like it but in the great scheme of things, who gives a damn what they think? Would I do it? Nope - but I am the guy with the red and white Roundels on both my cars. Just my nickels worth.
8Tech 05-23-2008, 05:16 PM Why not, then you will look just like ME! he he.
carspainc.com 05-23-2008, 07:22 PM i was thinking about getting those alpina badges and go crazy with them.
but i didn't in the end, ya know why? because my 850ci is not an alpina.
around here, where i live only very few would know it .
but those who know would think like
WTF- another car with personalty disorder
prit singh 05-23-2008, 08:36 PM Hello Alex
the M badge looks great on your car, its nice touch i will be putting one on mine too.
8eights 05-24-2008, 03:01 AM CSi's Deserve it, They should of came with one! Looks great both ways Alx.
Thank you for your replies.
I have ordered it. As some have said, I can remove it after a while.
Cheers,
I temporarily put the badge on the lower grill as this part is not functional anyway.
Here is a quick P-Shop:

I quite like it :)
Regards,
1chiban 05-24-2008, 03:22 PM nice bro! That's the most important thing, YOU LIKE IT!
Cheers,
Thomas
Paul840Ci 05-24-2008, 08:00 PM Personally I wouldn't but that's just me -- the fewer badges the better. I'll probably remove the rear bootlid badges leaving just the BMW badge front and rear.
I did it, it's an ///M car and deserves it :)
but then... I'm ///M obsessed!
carspainc.com 05-25-2008, 11:02 AM i wouldn't ...but it's your car and if you like you can even but an R-type sticker on it.

Thanks for your input guys.
I decided to stay with the clean and simple look, without the badge.
