Buttons on steering wheel and volume knob in dash freeze up, nothing works for about 20 seconds at a time, just about everyday.
Took to dealer they worked on it for 3 days, updated the software...........still have problem, is this just my car or does anyone else have these issues too?

I have an '08, but I never had any problems with mine.

My 335i coupe has a production date of March 2007 and I don't have these issues.

Is it happening when you first start the car or sometime after starting?

It is random, just happens all the time....in the shop now, I am so tired of taking it in and I am realing losing faith in BMW, they say they can fix anything but I am not sure they can.
The computer was off for 5 minutes, nothing, no time, date, stereo, nav,nothing......hopefully this time they will be able to fix my 335.

Wow...that would drive me nuts! So far I've been lucky and haven't had any issues..

I'm having no problems. Once...when I hit the volume button on the steering wheel, the change was much more dramatic than I had expected....I just tapped the button, but it got MUCH quieter....once. No problems.

Only happens to me when I start the car and the system is initializing...

No problems with my 07'

who needs a radio in the 335. the engine is all i need.

how long does it take for those with nav to boot up. it seems like mine takes too long. about 30 seconds from when i turn the ignition on. i usually like to set my music before i start driving and i feel like im having to wait a really long time. it just stays on the brown BMW screen. never had that problem in the 2 sevens.

I have kind of experienced the same problems that you have. I bought my 08 in May and have already had those problems, even though I only have 4,000 miles on it. My volume knob wont turn the volume up or down and sometimes the steering wheel volume button won't work. (though I haven't noticed it on the other buttons). Also, when I went to London for a week last month, came back, and I turned on my car, noticed it was running rough, so I let it warm up a bit. I took off, and my nav screen went off for about 5 to 10 min, then came back on and haven't had a problem since. I haven't been home for the past 2 weeks, and won't be there for another week, so I'm anxious to see if this happens again. :/ I also notice that when I push down on the iDrive button for the menu, that sometimes nothing happens, but thats random also.
