It makes a lot of sense to ask in the general forum instead of the E31 subforum. Attention? Na. Can't be...

Ya I need this to get attention because not all e31 owners can help me out with the dealers and ill post this in there too.

Judging by how much you know about BMWs, and your general posting style, you are (potentially) going to be in for a very rude awakening when it comes to the E31.

IF one does their research properly, and is aware of the eccentricities of the E31 (pages of info for which is located on this very site if you use the search function) then the question of dealers is rather mute. You are buying a car, not forming a relationship with a dealer.

Ironically, a sentiment echoed by others (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13083084&postcount=2).

Buying an 8-series from some random dealership is the first problem, that's coming from a dealer. Secondly, the E31 was very ahead of its times...if you read the old tech. books on the electronics it's amazing what they did for something being designed in the late 80's, however not so fun for someone who isn't ready to take care of what was (still is) an exotic car.

You need money?? That is an understatement!!
Interesting that you would post a Cadillac for sale on a BMW forum. Can't remember the last time I was looking for a Cadillac on a BMW site - oh, well.

As for being obviously ill-informed (or not informed) about the E31, you are in for one hell of a ride financially speaking if you don't do your homework.

Good luck.

PS. Maybe if you post the "Caddy For Sale" thread on a Cadillac site, you might get some hits on that car. Just a thought....

When I read the Original Post, my understanding was that he is doing research for his Dad. Am I missing something?

What Ahmed, you wouldn't ask your 13 year old to find you an E31? :D

I am sure, I'll ask him to research on phone, PDA and Computers. Not so sure about cars, so I see your point.

Agreed on the former triad. But isn't part of the fun with these cars the hunt?

He can't drive his own car for 3 years...maybe just a small issue.
