Hey everyone.
i just got a used 06 325i the other week and i am looking for ways to get the most gains out of it. this is my first time with a bmw, much less an import car, my previous was a ford mustang.. i know some of the basics to upgrading, like intake exhaust and what have you.. but i am looking for some expierenced people who have already upgraded and are willing to share what they have learned.. thanks

It really isn't worth spending money on performance parts for a 325i or 328i. You're going to end up spending thousands for little gain. Go with rims and other visual upgrades like I did. I'm probably going to get an exhaust later but just to make the car growl a little deeper. Other than that, performance is not my priority for this car. I would've just gotten a 330i or 335i if performance was what I was looking for. The 06 325i is fast enough for me and has just the right amount of bang for my tastes.

what rims did you end up going with? or what kind of exhaust do you think you will end up getting for your car?

I got 19x9 Breyton vision's w/ toyo proxe 4 tires. I haven't got the exhaust yet but I am thinking of going with magnaflows. Lol I might not get an exhaust though because my car doesn't cooperate with mods. The aFe cold air intake I installed keep throwing off my throttle positioning, so my CEL keep flashing, and now my new wheels keep making my low tire pressure indicator flash. The low tire pressure indicator isn't a biggy since I know my tire pressure is correct and it won't harm the car...it's just annoying and can't be reset for some reason :(

Yeah thats what i was afraid of if i put any mods in my car is crazy flashing lights. Thats what i was thinking about just getting the Dinan stuff done to my car so i don't have to worry about flashing lights and keeping my warranty. I was also trying to figure out if i was gonna get 18's or 19's what made you get the 19's???

What Dinan stuff is offered for t he 325?

P.S. if you have bad roads, get the 18s and save yourself the headache.

Originally, I wanted 18s, but since these were so cheap I just went with them.

Ah, just the regular intake/exhaust stuff. I thought you said no more for those kinds of tuning options, but then addicts are hard to cure ;).

I was thinking about it haha

I don't want to buy any of them any more :D

I'm only going to get my exhaust done when my warranty expires...just because I think this car is too quiet :devillook

I'll be going with Magnaflows :buttrock

lol yeah just really basic stuff from dinan nothing crazy yet i am actually gonna look at a 2000 M5 tomorrow. so if the dealership gives me a good enough deal then i'm gonna throw my money into that guy for upgrades and just leave my current 325 pretty stock. Yeah i live in the Cali so the roads aren't that bad at all, but i think i will agree with the 18's to save some money

i also agree with you that the car is really quiet. I traded in my 2001 vett that had a after market exhaust for my current 325. One extreme to another :) My g/f seems to like it being quiet
