Go to www.bmwccaclubracing.com...I think Kevlar's account just posts RSS feeds from the BMW CCA Club Racing website.
jonmacs22 05-19-2008, 03:02 PM If you want more, you will have to call Steve and talk to him about it. Definitely an impressive car.

Well that just confirms my asking price for my car/trailer/spares is an even better deal than what I've been told.

Z3SpdDmn 05-19-2008, 03:27 PM I don't mean to be "that guy" that hijacks a thread to contribute nothing, but I think the reason the car hasn't sold might be the price. $17,500, beautiful as the car may be, seems awefully steep for a car in a class where no one else races, when K-PREPARED cars are going for $6,500-11,000. If it is prepared for Spec E30, what are the price ranges on those? I haven't looked much at them.

James,
Do you have a link to your car? If inappropriate to post it here, could you PM it to me? I'm interested in seeing the specs and I'll forward it to a friend of mine.
Thanks
jonmacs22 05-19-2008, 03:56 PM It is prepared for Spec E30 as well. The car is really quick trick and incredibly built. Yes it is a little more money, but I guarantee it is an arrive and drive car with no need for any maintenance or rebuilding. Almost every piece on that thing is brand new

You pay for what you get in most cases...the car is Spec E30 legal as well (and could probably be made more competitive there by removing all of the interior etc that he kept in to remain KStock legal).
There are different ways of building a car. Very few club race cars are built the way this one was (down to the chassis with a restoration type build and a new crate motor), and most of them are Mod class cars. Such a build usually pays off in reliability and knowing that everything has been looked over and replaced. It's very different than just taking a car, ripping out the interior and bolting/welding in the parts needed to go racing and then replacing various things as they wear. It's like starting with a clean slate.
UKRSTI 05-19-2008, 10:14 PM Still, 17,500 is pretty expensive for that car, especially when you consider that Spec E30 is designed to be a very affordable class, targeting 10-12K range cars. I have a Spec E30 car and run it almost every two weeks, granted it's not a winner, but it stays midpack for less than half that price. He's been trying to sell that car for over 6 month now, and more likely than not it's all about the price. I even thought about buying it when it first became available, but just can't justify spending that kind of money on the car - maybe 14K and it'd be in my garage, plus you'd never get it back judging by how hard it is for him to sell it.
dtothepowerofp 05-20-2008, 08:53 AM I saw this car @ Barber 6 months ago. Very clean machine! Steve was wiping it down after each session as if it was a new born baby.
Good luck with the sale Steve.
