Now that I got your attention, I wanted to let you all know about an ongoing investigation by NHTSA into BMW 335i HPFP issue. Please check the original thread posted at E90 Post: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140023

So everyone who had HPFP failure should step up now and report it at www.nhtsa.gov (http://www.nhtsa.gov/) or https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/Consumer.cfm

Also, can someone sticky this post please. Thanks.

Is that a problem on the 335 and the 328, or just the 335?

The NHTSA have confined it to the 335. I have not heard nor have I experienced anything like this on the 328.

Its with the high pressure fuel pump for the direct injection N54 engine of the 335. The N52 engine in the 328 does not use direct injection, and has no need for this pump.
