here is a dyno of the first US car to get the software. The owner of the car is VERY happy with the way the car drives and was all smiles after he drove it for the first time :D. I asked him to post up a review and give his impressions of how the car drives now, so hopefully he will.

This is a bone stock 2008 Z4M with about 2k miles on it. This is the first and only mod on this car. The dynos were done within days of each other after the car was driven for adaptation. all the corrections were done for temp changes etc...

I am trying to work out a deal for a few who have asked me about a group buy.
If you have any questions let me know.

Rom3n, I'd like to know more about a potential group buy. Call me stupid, but please explain that dyno graph. It looks to me like the stock setup has more HP and torque until +/- 5400 rpm. Say it ain't so.

I think you're confusing the torque and HP curves.
There are 2 curves for each run, for a total of 4.

- 2 HP curves, 1 blue and 1 red
- 2 torque curves, 1 blue and 1 red

The red curves are the stock run.
The blue curves are the tuned run.

Just looking at it wrong sswood101 hotdogwater explains here. As far as GB info I will shoot you a PM.

Hi everyone,

This is my car represented on the dyno graph. I just want to start off saying that I have had other cars that I have had chipsets done, and they've always made power, but at the sacrifice of things like gas mileage and smoothness of operation.

This is NOT one of those chips. I seriously can not believe how well this thing drives now! It has all the smooth operation and feeling of stock, but with much more noticeable power! Starting off in first is just like stock, but then you get it up around 3k and to me it feels like a small bottle of nitrous hits, because it starts pulling way harder than right before I had the ESS flash done. It pulls and pulls and pulls, and just like the graph shows, the biggest feeling of gain is in the 6k range, and after running it through my favorite mountain pass, I can say it feels absolutely phenomenal!

But what I really can't get over is that I have actually seen an INCREASE in gas mileage in the 300 or so miles I've put on since the flash! I have experienced a gain of approximately 2 mpg in both my city driving and my highway cruising.

I can't begin to express how worth it this was to do. I'd like to thank ESS, Rom3n for all his efforts in making the arrangements, Richard at dyno-comp for his help with the dyno testing, and of course BMW for making such a fine product in the first place. :)

Can the software be deleted if a dealer reflashes the ECU with any kind of BMW software update?

It would be very rare that this would happen but if it did then ESS would re-install the software at no charge.

I'm a little embarrassed here. I thought we were talking about the software necessary to operate with the Z4M ESS CFR500/525/550 Supercharger System (114-12); not a chip for a standard M. :embarrasm Am I just totally sleep deprived.... or do I get it now? :confused

I can get the DME for the SC kit installed in your car but you might not like how it drives :D

Rom3n, Thanks for the link. That ride is sick :buttrock I'll keep my eyes open on that project. I couldn't read the forum posts; it was like there should have been a scroll bar at the bottom of the page. I couldn't read what appeared to be +/- 5 or 6 words on each line. I'll try again from my home PC.
