So, while I was building my FP car, I decided to go "buy" some down force at Home Depot. It's covered in dust now from sitting in my warehouse, but it worked when it was on the car. The "spoiler" is made of lexan and bolted up with Aluminum angle brackets. It is not adjustable, and I spent about 35 bucks on materials and 35 bucks on the trunk when I bought it. Spoiler is about 8.5" off the trunk surface. Paint on the trunk is pretty rough. It took me about 2 hrs of fab work to put it together.
The reason I'm not using it any more is because I switched to a 3 lb CF skin trunklid, and the weight savings is more important to me that the down-force at 60 mph because of the kind of courses that HouSCCA uses. This would be a great trial product for those of you who are debating the spoiler. It works by stabilizing your car during high speed cornering and providing some downforce. At track speeds, it would probably be drag though....will only be effective for autocross. It's a g-rigged product. It didn't cost me ~$400 like the professional wings do , so I'm getting rid of trunklid+spoiler for $50+shipping OBO. Will probably unbolt spoiler for shipping without breaking it. You can bolt it back up when it arrives. The color of the trunk is black, but paint is bad. It sits at about 70 degrees from the horizontal.
I'm really looking to get it out of my warehouse and make some space.
