Hello all,

I have a 2003 3.0 Z4, with sports, premium, cold weather, navigation and smg options.

I have done these upgrades..

1. upgraded tail lights.
2. upgraded rearbrake light.
3. upgraded rear bumper --also updated side mounts and rear center mount to match new bumper.
4. upgraded fog lights - xenon.
5. remapped all wiring for rear lights to work with existing harnessing.
6. custom body work to fit new rear taillights (not hard at all)
7. new m6 replica wheels with runflats. 18 x 8.5

now the moment of truth -- need votes please!

1. Paint the calipers, and carriers RED OR WHITE?

2. Paint the rotor hubs SILVER OR RED?

ALso Still to come, new clear side markers, and clear Black headlight housings to replace the old orange/silver housings --- to go with the stock HID xenons..

Looks great, definitely do the front headlight conversion, the amber kills it. Love the rear 3rd brake light is that the clear one from the Z4M? Looks smoked for some reason. I'd leave the brakes the way they are, instead go with some drilled/slotted rotors or better yet a BBK =]

Yeah I think the wheels look great, I dunno if you really want to paint the calipers a color that stands out. Maybe just some silver to make it look clean.

Actually that third brake is the z4m light.. its not smoked.. when i get the wheels done. and the front lights.. i will take better pictures.. ..thanks for the vote.. i was thinking maybe paint silver calipers, carriers, and rotor hubs..

sorry, not up to date on Acronyms.. whats a BBK?! :)

its so touchy.. b/c that can make or break the streamline look..

the problem with red calipers.. is the car is red.. and the rims are polished with antracite.. so matching with red/or white or silver is tough.. I NEED more votes.. :-) spread the word please... thanks!!

BBK = Big Brake Kit

Kudos on a job well done!

I know its the clear one from the Z4M, hence I asked if its the clear one from the Z4M or if its smoked cause it looked smoked from the angle.

Black or silver only for the calipers, it makes them blend in instead of stand out. IMO the ONLY brakes bright colors belong on are big ones, so unless you got some brembos or stoptechs leave the paint to the big boys and the ricers.

it is the clear z4m light..

silverbeam,.... thanks for the input.. would you think White would look good on the calipers?

No, I don't. White is a classic rice color, and it doesn't match your current color scheme either.

LOOKS like it is getting closer.. i think i am between red or silver as my caliper choices..

how many think red is too much with a red z4 ... i want to use the G2 epoxy paint.. so not sure how red it could turn out.. but was thinking it could be a good scheme with the dark wheels.. and just leave the rotor hubs the way they are..

silverbeam.. would you do the rotor hubs...or is that overkill?

I don't see red or white works on this car. I agreed silver or black is the best color. Silver will blend well with with the wheels. You can paint the rotor hub to match as well.

I think black calipers and silver rotor hub will be nice. The Z4 M Coupe calipers are black in stock form.

Don't paint. If you must color-up the stock brake calipers, remove them and have them powder coated black or dark silver. The caliper paint never looks professional.

IMHO, the calipers are too small to use a bright color, and having them highlighted in such a bright color merely accentuates their smaller size.

Oh, and +1 on the stubby antenna.

I agree with others ... if you aren't going with some big brakes... so them in a black or gray. If you go with some big brakes, you give yourself more options. Like Red.

hey 1daypay, what did you have to do to "remap" the tail lights in order to make them work? im doing the same thing to my car and want to avoid any possible headaches with this, thanks!
