Good afternoon, fellas!
I'll be installing a Pilot HID kit in my e38 this weekend. I was wondering if this will result in any light error messages? I'm still fairly new to the complexities of the E38s, but I do know that theres a sensor for almost everything :D
Thanks! :redspot

Yes it will, i dont think the car can sense the bulbs so until you turn on your headlights you will get a fault.

I just had my system updated from a hid install. The dealer has a RETOFIT button they can use and my error went away. I almost have my full dis SSS program system then ill do these myself.

I installed the Pilot HID kit on my 97' and did not get any error codes. I also have Pilot HID kit for my fogs and they are fine.

Eh, I installed my pilot kit last night for the low beams and it throws an error message. The thing is though, it doesn't always do it. Any way to get rid of this?

install a load resistor or use a HID kit that works with the OBC

I can recode it or you can take it to the stealer ship and have them recode it. Just ask them to use Dis and there is a retrofit button for hid's

Any idea on how long something like this takes to do at the dealer and how much it costs?
thanks!

Same here, except I get an error when the lights are OFF. Once I switch them on, the error goes away. It's cool cause I always drive with them on anyway.
