Hello darkturbo, and Welcome To BimmerForums! :cool
You have certainly come to the right place for just about everything BMW! The Members and Staff here are really On-Point and readily available to offer suggestions, tips, or share a story or two! Aside from the knowledgeable Members and Staff... There are also many BMW Certified (and/or ASE Certified) Techs here, like myself, who are more than willing to answer your Tech questions if anything comes up... which, as we ALL know too well, is inevitable with our beloved BMW's!
When you get your post count up a bit more.. you'll have to share some pics of the ride with us (and you can also add a custom Avatar (picture near your Username) and Signature.
To answer your questions:
1.) A (Certified/Official) BMW Dealership shouldn't charge you if you call them up and say you just replaced your battery and need to put in the radio code again.. which you "can't find." I've had luck with this in the past (with a previous E34 525i) so it shouldn't be a problem.
2.) I haven't seen any PDF Format repair manuals myself.. but the paperback versions are readily available for your E32 at places like: Bavarian Autosport (http://www.bavauto.com/), Pelican Parts (http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/index.htm), or Autohaus Arizona (http://www.autohausaz.com/index.html) (for example).
You can also look at: Real OEM (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/) for just about ANY BMW OEM part number you'll need for things (then order them up by number at Pellican, for example) and BimmerBoard.com (http://www.bimmerboard.com/) as another source for Tech answers and chat. You might also have a look at BMW Car Club of America (BMW CCA) (http://www.bmwcca.org/)-and Join Up, if interested-as an excellent source of reference, BMW related Part Discounts, and Local/National gatherings! The Membership Fee pays for itself in no time!
Good Luck and We'll See 'Ya On The Boards! Anything ever comes up.. don't hesitate to ask.

1. There is a guy in the Audio forums that can give you your code for free. I forget his name though. You just need to give him your VIN and he'll look it up.
2. Unfortunatly, I haven't found any PDF repair manuals (although, I don't really need one since I have TIS). Ebay works though.

Try this but I recently bought an original manual off someonethrough Ebay very reasonably. Also www.e38.org/e32 (http://www.e38.org/e32) is loaded with great info.

Just a tip dude, make your sig smaller. It disrupts thread viewing, and it violates the rules of the forum. If a mod catches you with it, they will delete it and take your sig privelidges.

Welcome to the forum neighbor. It's kinda cool and funny that your friend has you looking for his car's info. Hopefully you'll get a bimmer also. The guys pretty much covered it so again, welcome.

I'm sure someone here can tell you about the e32 manual in .pdf.

Here's your sig-resized and cropped, NEVector. Before yours gets deleted... better switch it out.
