I live in Myrtle Beach, SC --- can anyone recommend some good twisties that aren't TERRIBLY far away?
Perhaps some good roads that are near a good campground, or a fun town, to make for a weekend trip that includes fun driving and then some beers in the evenings... ?

I have heard really good things about Tail of the Dragon, going to go myself sometime.
But that is a little bit farther away for you...

the Tail sucks these days, as it is heavily patrolled and they lowered the speed limit to 35. Asheville is a good center location for most of the twisty roads in North Carolina. There is highway 215 ( I believe) tat is near the SC border. go to WNCrides.com , they have a section dedicated to the roads of the WNC area. It's a good resource.

Good info!
I'm actually going up to Asheville during the weekend of 6 June --- specifically to go do some driving on some twisties :D
Gonna bring my E30 M3, with some recent upgrades.
Anyone want to join me?

Come check out the Wolf Ridge Hillclimb (June 7 and 8). Its about 30 minutes north of Asheville (in rural, mountainous, Madison County). See the thread in this section or PM me for more info.

Another great resource for planning a trip. Not just about the "Dragon", either. If you peruse the site you will find a wealth of trip ideas.
Have fun! :buttrock
