Im going to get my oil changed for the first time since buying the car and at the same time I decided im going to change the transmission fluid and differential fluid at the same time. Im looking for a reputable shop that will let me supply my own fluids (ill supply the oil filter too).

I called Blackforest and since they stock redline and have the oil I want they quoted me 180 something, this is with the by-the-book bmw oil service, resets oil change light etc, but they cant do it until june 2 but id like it done asap.

I called Bavarian Mastercare and I was quoted 1 hour of labor (75 bucks) + my own fluids, which is cheaper in the end than blackforest. Sounds good to me, but I have no experience with this so what do you guys think. Oh, and I assume they will reset my change oil light too, they are closed right now otherwise id call back.

Any experiences with them? Any place that would do it cheaper you think?

Why not just do it yourself?

I have in one way or another dealt with all three of the shops mentioned here. Most of my buddies in south county go to service specialists. I am actually going down there on Friday to have my tranny fluid changed. Jim Powell takes his M3 to MasterCare and seems to be very happy with them. My boyfriend is very good friends with the master tech at Blackforest and they take their 88' 735i there. All of these shops are very good as far as labor is concerned. Like you said, Blackforest is expensive and very busy. But they do good work. If I were you, I'd go to service specialists. They did alot of work on my boyfriends 535i this past winter and were very reasonable and honest. They took good care of the car too. Hope this helps.
