My driver's side door was creaking bad these past couple of weeks and it embarrased the hell out of me whenever I picked up my girlfriend. I sprayed the hinges on all four doors with Water Displacement Formula 40 (WD-40) and damn what a difference it made! I even think that my car runs better now too! :) Should I have greased them instead?

Same thing with my car, but i think it's cuz someone backed into the door, so who ever "fixed" is used JB weld, and a few screws and washers to hold the hinge. It is frustrating, sounds so bad when i open it. Oh well.

White lithium grease in an spray can. It's the only thing you should use for that type of thing.

wd-40 tends to attract dirt and grime. i usually use silicone for lube jobs and wd-40 for rust.

Yea we use LPS 1, 2 and 3 on aircraft...

1 and 2 are for lubrication, 3 is basically rustproofing spray.

and i have the same problem, rear drivers side door squeaks like a mother...LPS 1 hasnt helped....gonna try lithium next
