VPC can do, I believe, $1000 worth of body repair work to a new car before it must be disclosed to a customer. Fairly common that they get dinged/scratched in transit, and a dealer can tell you if the car was repaired prior to delivery.

Nah, pretty sure it's based on a percentage of the cars value. I.E. if the repair work is more than say, 30% of the car's value, it must be disclosed.

I wonder if that was what was up with my old 525...the C pillars had a funny pattern on the paint that didn't match the roof :dunno

Well my paint is totally messed up, but I thought before i read this that it was just caused by the transition from lead based paint to the new stuff (not sure if it is oil based or what?) But is that even the right time period for the transition? (I'm guessing someone is reading this thinking "what an idiot!")

my paint was excellent till the car got vandalised. although the car got repainted, i still miss that original look :(

Noticed a lot of rear bumpers need repainting. Mine faded on th etop. Had it repainted. All is good.
