Shoot, you got that for free? I'd say keep it, and have fun with it. They are made very well. The sexiest bmw if you ask me.

This car was for sale a while ago, I've seen it before. What exactly are your intentions for the car? You said you want to make some free money, but you're taking on the project of restoring it yourself? I don't know what a 2jz is...
I just don't get the point of this thread I guess? Uuhhh....nice car?

2jz-gte is a toyota supra motor.. and I was just going to sell the car and not fix it for free easy money, since it was a gift.. and the point to this thread was saying hi. Most forums like to welcome new members.

Go back to negative land..

Thanks :)

Anyways... 10secstreetcar.... Build the motor thats already in the car. It really isn't that hard to do if you already have.

Welcome. If you are looking to resell, might I suggest a rebuild rather than a supra swap. Good luck!

Good plan but isnt it more cost effective to turbocharge the stock 3.5???? i know here in the uk a supra motor would cost over £1000 id imagine...

The 2jz will be able to make a bajillion HP if you spend equivalent money. M30 will make several hundred horsepower with similar money. I guess it's all up to preference, but keeping the m30 will require less fab work.

or, swap in an s50 type motor to keep it BMW and outflow the 2jz easily. :)

Hi, welcome to the forums!

I would echo some of the replies. If you're looking to sell the car, I would just freshen up the motor, give it some curb appeal, and sell it.

On the other hand...

I would love to see the jz motor in an e34 chassis! I heard that motor swap is somewhat "popular" in Thailand, but I've only heard that from 1 person. In any case, I haven't seen a 2jz swap done here in the states.

The other thing I'd love to do (which would piss off a lot of the hardcore folks) is drop in an RB26. ;)

congrats to you for the car, and welcome! I'd love to see the horsepower you're going to make off that supra engine. Any plans to keep it sleeper or are you going over the top with this?

My bad, you're definitely welcome here with that car. Just wasn't sure if you were selling as-is. I got a sweet spot for M30s :D. I can't figure out what to do with mine either. It's MAF'd otherwise stock automatic. Is it worth it for me to do a tranny swap, engine swap, etc. or just buy a different E34 with all that already..... I REALLY don't want to sell my car considering all the interior work I've started.

love the pic of the 2jz with NAS... :)
that is a classic.

why not boost what you got and if it isn't enough then you can sell the drivetrain to make room for your 2jz MT swap...

But Firt get teh car running correctly and all the maintenance up to snuff... all new hydraulics, hoses, water pump, etc... basically all wear tiems need to be changed after it has been sitting up. Also best check compression

Yea I will know by the end of this week if Im going to swap or build whats in it.

Compression is not important, due to Im rebuilding anyways. :)
