View Full Version : Strut Bar Installation
katboy600 05-11-2008, 07:40 PM Just installed my front bar from Eurobahn. Looks nice, was affordable, and took about 20 minutes to install, including putting the tools away and shining the engine a little for the final picture.

stang65 05-11-2008, 08:08 PM was it it easy to get it together I know with my one I had to jack the car up and have my dad pull on the bar so I could get it to fit. after the install on my car its turn in was amazing. but I have the Racing Dynamics one though
Zchild 05-11-2008, 08:56 PM :woot: I'd love to hear about the installation of the rear strut bar as well as to hear how difficult the job actually is to complete. A bonus would be pictures of all phases of the work. Just my two and a half cents worth. Happy Motoring...

Have not driven it much yet, so I can't say I can tell a difference yet.
Have not put in the rear yet, I'm a little intimidated about having to remove all that trunk trim...

Hmm. It was very easy to get together, I did not have to jack up my car. So now you've got me worried that it's not doing much. Does anyone know how much flex there would be without the bar?

It's not bad. Just be careful with the plastic peices...

could be because our cars are slammed so it causes our cambers to be out of place for the strt.

Not a whole lot. You should be able to bolt it right on like you did, its not normal to have to jack or force it. Its probably not doing much but thats also normal. Stang probably had a little trouble because his car is lowered (looks like) and the strut towers were already a little stressed. On a stock suspention the strut bars arent going to do a whole lot. Its only once the suspension itself it made stiff enough to make the mouting points flex that a bar can really be helpful.
edit: he beat me ^^ :)
There is nothing to installing the rear, as DIYs go thats still like a 1.5/10. Just take your time removing the interior pieces so you dont break anything and you'll be fine.
BimmerNate 05-12-2008, 08:07 PM here's my rear after installing it. Only hard part was making the perfect cut outs (H)

katboy600 05-13-2008, 12:10 PM BimmerNate what's the distance from that bar to the seats? In other words, how much trunk space are you losing?
ThEnder 05-13-2008, 02:14 PM Not a whole lot. You should be able to bolt it right on like you did, its not normal to have to jack or force it. Its probably not doing much but thats also normal. also, flex should be much less of an issue while the car is at rest - the bars provide extra rigidity to prevent flexing DURING a turn, while the suspension is loaded.
