I just brought a 323is. Its been running fine until today. I turn it on and the check engine light pops up. Its start up fine but I want that check engine light gone! Im assuming that its oil because the maintance gauge read "OIL SERVICE" and it only two bars. Im really hoping that the problem! What do you think?!

The Check Engine Light (CEL) and the Oil Service warning have nothing to do with each other. The Oil Service message simply means that it is time for an oil & filter change, as well as inspection of other parts per the maintenance schedule. The CEL means that the DME has detected some fault. it could be as simple as a loose gas cap, or impending failure of something related to the engine management system. You'll need to have the car scanned for fault codes to find out why the CEL is on.

thanks....

Bring the car to your local car parts store (Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.) They'll read your codes for free.
