hey i have a question for anyone who has a 2007-2008 mini S. my fiancee has one great car i lov it and so does she but she has burnt her legs twice on that stupid exhaust that sticks out way too far. has anyone eles done this? and is there a way to fix it... or is there a better exhaust i could get her that doesnt stick out so far?

I've never heard of this being an issue. Maybe after doing it a few more times, she won't stick her leg so damn close to the tailpipes.... ;)

Great excuse to throw an aftermarket exhaust system, tho... Here are some samples (with sound):

very easy to do if your trying to get stuff on top of the back seats

I did it with my Milltek on the R53 once. Because of the angle of the tips, it only left a nice letter 'C' on my calf. But the stock tips are flat, so I'll tell the wife to be careful in her '08. They do look like the stick out further than the R53 stock.

Haven't crawled up under the R56 myself (or even a stock R53), but my Milltek was sort of "sleeved" with the rear section sliding into the other. When it got loose, the tips would recede slightly, and I had to crawl under and tighten the clamp that joined the two sections.

So, if the R56 stock system is the same sorta setup, you could probably loosen the clamp and move the tips forward somewhat. Careful though... not sure how the hangers are set up, and you could potentially push it back to a point that the exhaust could work its way out.
