Greets. Been looking for a car for a little while now, and I think I may have found one. Would love to hear some opinions on this car.

1999 328i with 160mi, asking $7k and he won't budge.

The car is on its 3rd owner, some records from 2nd owner all records from 3rd. Has brand new tyres, belts, radiator, expansion tank, hoses, thermostat, and steel impeller water pump. Fully loaded with the exception of heated seats and the Sport package. Has a dent on the passenger side. Dunno how big, owner says can be popped out easily. Engine wise he tells me it burns no oil and runs great, does mention this:

"Only issue that has sprung up is the yellow oil light comes on 20 secs after start up. Just had a oil change and it has slowly started to happen regularly. Google the problem as it's very common with these cars. More of an aggravation than anything. The part cost 100 bucks but you have to drop the pan to replace it."

as far as interior he says the leather has no wear and:

"Florida car! fading on rear deck (common), couple of hairline cracks on the trim from the heat (hardly noticeable. I notice these things) rear "ashtray" door broken."

Owner says runs out great shifts good. I haven't viewed the car yet, waiting on Carfax now.

I think there's a big piece of plastic missing from that engine bay...it matches the shape of the kidney grilles and goes in front of the electric fan. :shifty

Holy ****, yes you are right, I was just going to add that in!

Man, definitely look into the vehicles history, particularly, the front end being totalled?

For that high of mileage, you should be getting it for less, and considering it's not stock and is missing pieces ... also, more than one driver ups your chances of having an abusive driver, ect.

Find an enthusiast owned E46 with ~100K or less on to odometer, before you consider, IMO.

In the long run, that will save you a lot of money.

i dunno about you but i can see that huge dent in the passenger side door. I doubt it will "pop" out and look like it was never there. It might pop out, but it'll be easy to tell it was there. There is going to be creasing. That car looks like it was not loved as a BMW should be. Keep looking!!

i got the exact same car. it was 1 owner very well taken care of. just to give you something ot compare seems like your paying alot for a car that looks like it has some accident history. if it was me...keep looking.

oh and i had the same oil sensor light problem, it is very common and you were right it is a $100 fix and takes under an hour. cheers.
